Connect Claude to Meta Ads: MCP Setup + Starter Prompts

The quick version. 8 minutes, no code, and the exact prompts to run first.

Meta opened its ads platform to AI assistants through a standard called MCP, so Claude can connect. It's not a Claude-only partnership. There's now an official Meta connector, in open beta and free, that lets Claude read and analyze your ad account in plain English.

The honest version: this collapses the reporting and diagnosis grind. It does not replace your strategy or your budget calls.

Connect It (About 8 Minutes, No Code)
1

Open Settings

In Claude (Pro or Max), go to Settings, then Connectors.

2

Add Meta's ads connector

It's listed in the connector directory. No API token, no code required.

3

Sign in with your Meta business account through the secure pop-up, and you're connected.

Prompts to Run First

Show me every campaign with a ROAS under 2, frequency over 3.5, or CTR down more than 20% week on week.

Which ad sets are quietly draining budget with no conversions in the last 7 days?

Write a client-ready weekly report: spend, ROAS, CPA, top 3 and bottom 3 ads, and what changed since last week.

Check my pixel and Conversions API signal health and flag any weak event matching.

Keep It Safe
Start read-only. This touches real ad spend. Let Claude read and analyze, not spend.
Anything it creates comes in paused by default, so a human flips it live.
It cannot see your actual ad images or videos. Keep creative judgment and budget decisions with you.
How to Get the Most Out of It
Use it for the boring expert grind: pulling numbers, spotting the underperformers, drafting the report. Keep the strategy for yourself.
Set account-level budget caps before you connect anything.
Treat its creative comments with a pinch of salt since it can't see the visuals.
